Gadkari threatens IT officials and accuses Congress of ‘conspiracy’
A day after Rajnath Singh replaced him as BJP chief, “free man” Nitin Gadkari said he was not bound by the dignity of a post any longer, and threatened income-tax officials that nobody would save them when the BJP came to power at the Centre. Accusing the UPA government of using the I-T department as a political tool against him in the Purti case, he said: “Earlier it was the CBI and now it is the income-tax department which is working under the Congress. They conspired against me.” They should remember that the Congress government is like a sinking boat. When it goes and our government comes (to power), there will be no (P) Chidambaram or Sonia Gandhi to save them,” he said to loud cheers from his supporters.
