Decked in two kilograms of gold, 30 kilograms of silver and around 20,000 Swarovski crystals, the car – currently on display at the gems and jewellery dome of the Vibrant Gujarat Global trade show – has been pegged as a tribute to the progress the state has made. And unsurprisingly, the white Chevrolet UVA – arguably India’s most expensive at an estimated base price of Rs 2 crore – has drawn all eyes at the show. The credit for the car’s bejewelled exterior goes to Mumbai-based sculptor Rajesh Bajaj, who designed it in collaboration with Rajkot’s Bhindi Jewellers.
