IGMC health services hit as resident doctors on indefinite strike
MRI, Ultrasound, OPD and indoor services were affected as the IGMC doctors went on indefinite strike asking for the arrest of the accused who allegedly trashed a on duty doctor, said would not join their duty until the arrest is made
Shimla-The Health services were paralysed today in the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital here as Resident doctors went on indefinite strike seeking arrest of a person who had recently allegedly thrashed a doctor during the duty.
All doctor belonged to RDA and a number of others medical students joined the protest after bringing out a protest rally from IGMC to Deputy Commissioner office here seeking immediate action against the alleged accused.
President of RDA Rajeev Chauhan said doctors would not join their duty until the accused is not arrested. Senior Superintendent of IGMC Ramesh Chand said consultant doctors were giving their services in the hospital and all Emergency services were kept of out of the strike.
He hoped that hospital Management would soon sort out the matter as it was talking with the agitating doctors.
SP Shimla Abhishaik Dullar said police have yet to identify the accused. A Number of patients had to face hardship due to lack of doctors in the hospitals. MRI, Ultrasound, OPD and indoor services were affected due the strike. UNI
