Sensitization workshop on Rabies organized by Health Club in St. Bede’s College Shimla
Sensitization workshop on Rabies was organised in St. Bede’s college on 26th September at 12:00 p.m in the college auditorium by the Health Club Society in collaboration with “The North Zone Indian Association of Preventive and Social Media ” on the occasion of World Rabies Day which is observed all over the globe on 28th September every year . A team of doctors along with their President – PSM Dr. SR Mazta and Dr. Anmol Gupta from IGMC , Shimla were special guests.
An introduction on Rabies was given by Dr SR Mazta in which he told that Rabies is a disease caused by RNA virus- which belongs to Rhabdoviridae famliy and is transmitted by bite of an animal caused saliva. Dr. Anmol Gupta gave a discripitive note on treatment , factors causing Rabies for example various type of exposure ,severity of bite and various home measures to prevent rabies like washing the wound with soap and water ,tetanus toxoid and no direct touch.
A four round quiz competition was organised in which our students and faculty members actively participated and were awarded with gifts and certificates. The workshop ended at 1:00 p.m and a lot of effort was put by Ma’am Anita Khanna President Health Club ,Ma’am Swati Kaundal ,Naina Sambher Vice President and Mohini Sharma Secretary and a special thanks goes to the doctors for organising this event.
