ST. Bedes College Shimla holds lecture on evils of ragging, stresses on zero tolerance policy
SHIMLA- Ms Trisha Sharma, Dean Academics at APG University delivered a talk on the evils of ragging. She apprised the students about the legalities applied to ragging in colleges.
The punishment for ragging encompasses three years of imprisonment, a fine of Rs. 50,000 and rustication from the institution for a period of three years.
She further emphasized the psychological impact that ragging has on the self-esteem and self-confidence of the new students. Mrs. Sharma stressed that there should be a policy of zero tolerance to ragging.
The senior and the junior students should have a healthy interaction, in the absence of which the complaints of bullying and ragging should be taken seriously by the concerned authorities.
