895 green trees felled in forest minister’s district

SHIMLA- In Himachal Pradesh, the biggest tree felling incident ever has been reported from the home district of forest minister Thakur Singh Bharmauri where 895 green devdar trees were felled in Ahlami beat in Chamba district, after which 12 people, including 8 officials of the forest department and forest corporation, were arrested by the police. All the accused were produced in the court and sent to three days’ remand. These trees were felled, is located in a very remote area and taking advantage of that, green trees were axed by forest mafia under the garb of cutting marked trees. ~ TNN
