Hilltops of Himachal see rise in communal tensions
SHIMLA-Perhaps for the first time in its history, the serene hilltops of Himachal Pradesh are seeing communal tensions rise between Hindus and Muslims. Close on the heels on the VHP raising the bogey of Love Jihad in the state, some unidentified miscreants on Friday scribbled anti-India slogans on the walls of ESI Medical College in Ner Chowk area of Mandi. Although it lead to tension, no arrest was made. Police registered a case of sedition and of spreading communal hatred against unidentified persons.
Balh police station SHO Inspector Chet Singh Bhangalia rushed to the spot after he was told about “Pakistan Zindabad” and other slogans using derogatory language against Indians on the college walls. “Forensic Science Laboratory, Mandi, staff have taken writing samples and fingerprints,” Bhangalia said.~ TNN/Image Amar ujala
