Parwanoo-Shimla four-lane project gets a push
SHIMLA-The Parwanoo-Shimla four-lane project is finally inching towards reality with the ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) giving green signal to the construction of 62 km road. With that, now forest clearance is awaited only for 28-km stretch passing through Shimla district. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is planning to start the ambitious Rs 3,300-crore project in May this year.
The new alignment of 26 km stretch on Parwanoo-Shimla highway would start from Kaithlighat and would run through Shoghi, Tara Devi hills to join the Junga road. The new stretch will have four rail overhead bridges to bypass rail tracks and five tunnels..~ TNN
