Himachal eyes to hunt for more tourists this winter

Government plans extensive campaigns in metro cities to highlight the tourism potential of the State and deliver sufficient tourism related publicity material.

Shri Kishan Kapoor, Industries Minister said that Himachal Government was taking various steps to attract high end tourist during winter season. Shri Kapoor held a meeting with Mumbai Tour and Travel Operators to discuss the various tourism related issues with the travel associations and told them about the various steps being taken to boost tourism sector in the State.

He said that State Government had started schemes to create civic facilities on National Highways and popular tourist destinations for visiting tourists. He said that steps had also been taken to ensure quality accommodation and other facilities to tourists at reasonable rates during their stay in the State.

He said that department would launch extensive campaign in metro cities to highlight the tourism potential of the State and also take effective measures to deliver the tourism related publicity material and other information for the prospective visitors in the State. He said that State Government would take up matter with railways and civil aviation authorities for starting such extra services to the state to facilitate the tourists.
