Bhavika Jain, Vice President, Women Cell Introduced the resource person. In her presentation she highlighted the issues related to the bringing up of a girl child in our society.
The resource person said ‘a life is happy if it has not suffered the stigma of victimization’. She made the students aware about the property rights of women, Domestic Violence Act and other interventions for legal support. A number of changes have been made in the Indian Penal Code to help women in distress.
Empowerment is only possible if both men and women work together as equal components of the society. Education can play a vital role in empowering the women in taking necessary action in addressing the legal issues as and when required. She motivated the students to take independent decisions related to their career and their life.
This was followed by an interaction with the students wherein a number of their queries were answered by the resource person.
