Glimpses of Shimla’s new attraction – Johnnie’s Wax Museum

SHIMLA- A Gurgaon-based company ‘BM Brothers’ has brought new charm to the Queen of Hills as it opened Himachal’s first Wax Museum at the historic Willow Banks estate in capital city Shimla. Johnnie’s Wax Museum opened for public after Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh inaugurated it on May 11,2016. Himachal Watcher visited the museum and found it worth sharing with our readers.


The museum feature life-size wax statues of popular personalities from various fields, such as Hollywood, Bollywood, Politicians, Sports etc, like Madame Tussauds, London – the most famous wax museum in the world. Presently, Johnnie’s Wax Museum features 16 statues, which are handmade in London.

The statues appear stunningly realistic in real cloths. Currently, you can shake hand with:

That’s not all, the Manager, Richa Awasthi told Himachal Watcher statues of more personalities including the god of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Mother Teresa, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Zuckerberg, David Beckham, Deepika Padukone, Shahrukh Khan, and Priyanka Chopra.

The Museum charge 250 per person as an entry fee, but entry is free for children below five years. In a hill-station that receives thousands of tourists daily, it’s worth it.


Currently, a staff of 10 people including Richa Awasthi, manages the entire place and team’s hopes are bright for future. The company is planning to further expand their reach and open more wax museum in Delhi, Hyderbad, Ahmadabad, and Noida.
