SHIMLA- Struggle of an unsuccessful lawyer was very beautifully captivated and presented on the stage in a play “Ek Tu Aur Ek Main” at the historic Gaiety Theater, Shimla.
The story was full of irony and humor as after 20 years a lawyer gets an opportunity to defend his first ever client; which he received due to typing error. Throughout the play the lawyer and his client have vintage point and he try to defend his case.
The lawyer fails when the real testing time arrives and because of his incompetency, the court dismisses client case. Lawyer is taken back when he learns that with a reason that poor guy could not get a good lawyer. His confidence was shattered but the client gives a new perspective to the whole situation and tells him it was his strategy and it is because of his wise decision pretending to get confused and stand still that he has been saved else there was no scope for it. Lawyer is filled with new hope and both leave the prison cell with new hopes and aspirations for their lives ahead.
Wah Re Corona: Himachali Folk Artist’s Lyrical Satire is Factual Rendition of India’s Agonizing Catastrophe
Shimla-Otherwise blatantly vocal and distinctively mass-mobilizing government of India is suddenly in the most subdued self after its proclaimed victory over the deathly virus; participation in uncontrolled election rallies; and permitting maha melas. The stalwarts are in the hiding, while helpless citizens – who voted them into power not once but in landslide victories twice – are dying due to lack of oxygen, poor – unavailable – medical facilities, and the denial stance of the ignorant in the helm.
Drawing a comparison between the fatal coronavirus and the mismanagement of the entire situation by the appalling government; a Himachali folk artist has released a factually appropriate lyrical satire that will tickle your mind and leave you to imagine what has brought this catastrophe onto us. The song is written by Rameshwar Sharma and music by Lalit Sauta.
