HPU students rock ‘Shimla Film Fest’ with shortfilm ‘Peccant Pie and R-square’

SHIMLA- Film education and production in the state reached a new high today when a short film ‘Peccant Pie and R-square’ was premiered on the first day of Second International Film Festival of Shimla.

The film, produced by the Himachal Pradesh Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, is the first film produced by an educational institute in the state to have gathered appreciation on such popular platform.

The Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh lauded the efforts of the students expressing his hope, “this augurs well for the future of filmmaking in the state.”

After this shortfilm, now students of the department are preparing to release of a music video ‘Harbele Pyarua’. Music video is written, composed and produced by the students.

“The students have now made a toe-hold in the world of filmmaking. With the exposure received through this film festival, they’ll surely be motivated to make bigger and better films,” said the Chairman of the Department, Dr. Vikas Dogra
