Himachal Apple Festival 2016: Over 300 entries with 23 apple varieties displayed
SHIMLA- The Himachal Apple Festival organized by the department of Tourism and Horticulture at the Shimla Ridge, started on Saturday. Hard work of farmers and horticulturalists who displayed various varieties of apple during the festival gathered appreciation.
Food fest was organised by the Tourism Department and the Hotel Association of Shimla .People and Tourist enjoyed the food of various districts under a single canopy.
There were approximately three hundred entries with as many as 23 different varieties of apples for display. Besides, 23 participants displayed different varieties of flowers and there was also exotic vegetable show including agrarian products.
The fest was inaugurated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
Other than that, the Food Festival organised at the Padam Dev Complex on the Ridge showcased a variety of Himachali cuisine.
