Large crowd on Kullu streets to pay tribute to martyr Tanzin
Kullu – A large crowd including the district administration of Kullu came out on the streets in the Kullu Valley to pay tribute to Tanzin Chhul Tim – the 25 years-old braveheart from Lahaul-Spiti district, Himachal Pradesh, who martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Sophian district, South Jammu & Kashmir on August 3, 2017.
The crowd was seen on streets with candles in their hands as the body of the martyr reached the Kullu district late Friday night. People had begun to gather as the news of the arrival of Tanzin’s body reached them. As soon as the body arrived, people couldn’t hold their tears and the crowd shouted slogans against Pakistan.
People appeared enraged over the regular terrorist activity by Pakistan, but also with the incompetent diplomacy of the Indian government. People said Himachal keeps losing several of its sons in Jammu & Kashmir in terrorist encounters.
Various officials of the district administration of Kullu including the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police paid tribute to the braveheart.
The martyr’s body had to be transported by road as bad weather prevented helicopter flight from Pathankot to his native village Karpat. The martyr will be cremated with full State honour on Saturday in Karpat.
The parents and sisters of Tanzin are grief stuck since the news of his death along with two other soldiers broke out on Thursday. As per his sisters, Tanzin had promised he would come home on Rakshabandhan (August 7).
Tanzin had joined the Dogra Scouts in 2012 and was posted with the 62 RR of Army.
