Himachal approves 9 new industrial units, expects Rs. 526 crore investment and over 1900 jobs
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh has approved 9 new proposals for industrial units and expansion of 13 units in the State. The approval is expected to fetch an investment of Rs. 526.32 crore and create employment opportunities for about 1963 persons.
The approvals were given in a meeting of Single Window Clearance & Monitoring Authority (SLSWC&MA) held on August 23.
Major firms that will be investing in new industrial units in Himachal include Asian Concrete and Cement Private Ltd, Eastman Auto and Power Limited, Sampooran Layer Farming Private Ltd, said a government source.
There were total 22 proposals and the new 9 new proposals were approved involving an investment of Rs. 457.69 crore and employment to 881 persons.
Similarly, 13 expansion approved involves an investment of Rs. 239.58 crore with employment potential for about 1082 persons.
The major houses, which were approved for expansion, include Cadila Health Care Ltd., Baddi, Cipla Limited, Malpur, RCI industries and Technologies, Spans Health Care Majra, Pidilite Industries, Steel Units, Livguard Batteries Pvt. Ltd. etc.
The meeting was chaired by the Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and the Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Chief Secretary V.C. Pharka, Additional Chief Secretaries, Tarun Shridhar were also present.
