Paonta Sahib Tragedy – Bodies reduced to pieces in one of the most terrifying road accidents
Sirmaur: In one of the terrifying accidents, a Swift car carrying eight passengers was crushed between two trucks on the Yamunapur-Paonta Sahib National Highway in Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh.
Five passengers including a 3-years-old girl and two women were literally squeezed out of life due to the impact and some of the bodies were reduced to pieces. Out of three injured, two were reported to be critical.
The ghastly sight presented an example of one of the most dreadful ways people can die in road accidents. People were hardly able to stand the spine-chilling sight of flesh and blood spread all over the wreckage of the car.
Like always, some social media users, regional online news portals as well as Hindi dailies have posted unmasked pictures of the victims including the little girl.
The ill fated car (HP-17B-7665) was waiting behind a truck in the queue at Behral inter-state barrier at Paonta Sahib. While it was waiting, a speeding truck (HR -55B-1665) rammed the car while it was standing in the queue.
The truck driver fled the scene and was reported to be absconding by the time of writing this report.
The police established contact with the owner of the truck and is hopeful of nabbing the driver very soon. The police is not ruling out the possibility of failure of brakes as the cause of the accident.
The family was reportedly returning their village Mishriwala from Saharanpur after offering condolences to their relatives over a death in their family.
Other than driver Rakesh Kumar (26), the killed persons were identified as Sana (3), Yasin Ali (41), Nanki (57), Nisha (45).
