Agra tragedy: One killed, 2 amputated, 35 injured as bus carrying Mandi school students overturns
Shimla: One of the two buses carrying the students of a private school of Mandi district, Himachal Prades,h met a dreadful accidents on the Yamuna Expressway on Friday.
The students of Alok Bharti School along with their teachers were on their way to visit the Taj Mahal in Agra. The bus was carrying students of upto Class XII.
The driver Hansraj was killed, about 35 persons including the students and teaching staff were injured, about five kids received critical head injuries and fractures, and two were amputated. A Class XII student lost his arm while another person identified as the staff member of the travel agency lost his leg.
As per the Uttar Pradesh Police, the bus that belonged to a Chandigarh-based travel agency was in high-speed. Near Agra the driver lost control after one of the tyre busted suddenly. The bus hit the divider and turned turtle.
As per the eyewitnesses, the Yamuna-Expressway was echoing with the screams of the children and other injured.
The injured children and other persons were evacuated by locals and passengers of other vehicles after breaking the window glasses.
The some of the injured were taken to SN Medical College and remaining to other hospitals for treatment. The children are traumatized after this narrow escape from horrific accident.
The teachers had contacted the parents of the children, who were on their way to Agra.
