Himachal will present India’s first paperless budget
SHIMLA – Himachal Pradesh is set to present country’s first ‘paperless’ budget on March 11.
All documents related to budget will be made available online. Assembly Speaker BB Butail said that only 10 or 15 copies will be printed for record. “No other paper document would be published as all information would be uploaded on the e-Vidhan system,” the Speaker was quoted as saying in a Times of India report. Earlier, around 200 copies along with huge volumes of other documents used to be published. The e-plan will save the state exchequer Rs 15 crore annually and also 6,000-odd trees.~ India TV
