Shimla police objects to HW’s article, says it was a misunderstanding
HW would like to correct our statement and confirm,“Shimla Police did not play cheap trick to protect its own cop, rather, it did a fantastic job by imposing penalty on the violator, irrespective of the fact that he belongs to the Police department. The previous remarks were the result of the error in police database, which created a huge misunderstanding”
After, HW published an article regarding the wrong challan number sent by Shimla police in reply to our complaint, the department objects that the number they provided was correct. Department further suggests that HW should have confirmed and cleared the misunderstanding.
Further, to your objection, there is a great difference between the digits 1916 and 0001916. The Police department sent us 1916 as a challan number. However, when it did not correct the mistake even on being enquired second time, we published an article, which mentioned negative remarks regarding the wrong information provided to HW.
Now, Shimla police objects that the number was correct and it was 0001916 instead of 1916.
We believe, rest of the three digits should have been mentioned properly as no one is supposed guess them. Further, your online database did give us valid result for 1916 too.
Still, we apologize for our aggressive article titled “Shimla Police playing cheap trick to protect its own cop”. We are also sorry for the incorrect date mentioned in the previous article. However, that makes a little difference as the main reason behind the trouble was the wrong challan number. We also appreciate your action from the core of our heart. Every department that is attending to its duties properly, deserve appreciation from the public, on behalf of which HW forwards the complaints. HW also confirms that our allegation mentioned in the earlier article, which was the result of a careless reply on Shimla Police’s part, is null as we have received the correct challan number now.
However, we don’t consider that HW was completely on fault as we did confirmed the number second time to avoid the misunderstanding but, Shimla police did not mention the rest of initial three digits . Please, do take care that your replies do contain complete information, so that such a misunderstanding could be averted. We hope, Police department would accept their mistake too.
Again, to end with, HW would like to correct our statement and confirm, “Shimla Police did not play cheap trick to protect its own cop, rather, it did a fantastic job by imposing penalty on the violator, irrespective of the fact that he belongs to Police department”
We are also removing the previous article, which contained negative remark against Shimla police, as it would be unjustified to keep that available for the readers, especially, considering the fact that the actual action has already been taken.
