Pahkand staged at Gaiety


People of city got an opportunity to experience the magic of Martin MacDonagh’s “The Lieutenant of Inishmore” at the historic Gaiety

Theater lovers are getting am amazing opportunity to experience the magic of “The Lieutenant of Inishmore” by Martin MacDonagh’s in the form of Pakhand an Indian adaptation of the play staged by KBDS theatre group Shimla at the historic Gaiety Theatre.

As aforesaid the play is based on The Lieutenant- a black comedy, the play has been given an Indian touch reflecting on the current situations and social evils existing in society like drug abuse and molestation.

Story revolves around Bhawani who after having bitter experience of his sister being raped takes hold of situation brutally tortures corrupt people harming the society. On other hand this cruel man has a soft tone to his personality as his love for his dog makes him falls prey to his enemies wicked plans. The play ends on the note where he is killed.
Highlight of the play is original song compositions by Abhisekh Kaushal. With a technical flaws little here and there; which can be ignored considering the live performance; the over all the impact of play is good.

Presence of mind by Rawat is worth application. Last show will be held on October 19 at 5.30 P.M. For having a break from the normal routine it can be a good chance.
