St. Bede’s Shimla concludes national seminar ‘Web based Technologies : Present & the Future’
SHIMLA- On the second day of the national seminar on “Web based Technologies: Present & the Future”, the third technical session threw light on different aspects of web technology. The session discussed various research papers on E-Commerce, E-Governance, Digitising pathways, Social networking, Cyber crime law, E-Literature, Ethical hacking, and other similar topics.
It was followed by the fourth technical session themed ‘E – Governance in Power Sector’, which was chaired by Dr. Indu Chabbra, Department of Computer Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. It further discussed E-governance and the characteristics of good governance with an emphasis on the use of ICT for the smooth functioning Govt. offices. The speaker emphasized the E-Governance for its simplicity and transparency.
In Valedictory function, Prof. (Dr.) Ashwani Kumar, Pro-Chancellor; APG University, marked his presence as the chief guest along with Guest of Honour Prof. Ganesh Hegde and Dr. Indu Chabbra.

The seminar concluded on a note that emphasized that on the potential that education and technology holds. It can revolutionize our social behavior and our standards of living. It is of paramount importance that every individual should be assisted and guided to become computer literate.
