Bahra University organizes Principal Development workshop, attended by 165 school heads
SHIMLA- Bahra University Shimla Hills in association with the Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Higher Education, organized a ‘Principal Development Programme’ here today.
A total of 165 principals and headmasters of various government senior secondary and high schools of Solan district participated in the programme. Jeewan Sharma, Deputy Director, Higher Education, was also present as the chief guest.
Pro-Chancellor Dr SK Bansal, in his key note address, emphasized the need to open new technology and adopt new way of teaching to ensure quality education for the students.
Bansal said that with the emergence of technology there were many sources of information and now teachers role had transformed from mere information provider to a filterer of information. He underlined the need to assess the students’ capacity, expectation and the recommended adoption of practical learning to enhance their potential.
Lauding the role of principals and teachers in the shaping of the future of the students, Dr Bansal asked visitors to feel proud to be a part of the education department.
We prepare skilled manpower for the nation and we should feel proud of it.
Dr. Bansal also interacted with the visiting principals and answered their queries.
Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Daljit Singh, in his welcome address, congratulated the school principals for ensuring overwhelming class 12th result, in which students from government schools performed well and especially in the arts stream secured top position as well.
For better performance, Dr. Singh suggested to ensure sufficient attendance in the classroom. He also suggested conducting classes on ethical and moral value regularly in the school.
