Shimla Modern Children Home worth Rs. 8 crore to be completed by June 2017: CM
SHIMLA- As Assembly Polls for Himachal Pradesh nears, government has begun showering announcement and lay foundation stones. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh laid the foundation stone of the Modern Children Home (Adarsh Balika Grah) at Mashobra in Kasumpati assembly constituency. The project will cost around Rs. 8 crore. Besides provision for a hostel for around 100 such children, government also proposed other amusement facilities including indoor games for the children home.
The Chief Minister directed for early completion of the project and claiming it would be inaugurated on June 1, 2017.
Residential Institution for Mentally Challenged Children
Government also proposed to construct a residential institution in Shimla for 50 mentally challenged children which would run in partnership with experienced NGOs.
Rs. 10 crore Hostel for Special Girl Children at ITI Sundernagar
In order to cater to the needs of visually impaired, hearing impaired and orthopedically handicapped children and to ensure their enrolment in special ITI at Sundernagar, hostel for 150 such girls with the cost of Rs. 10 crore would be made operational in 2016-17, he added.
Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment, Anuradha Thakur said that 51 posts had been created for Bal Ashrams all over the State which would be filled up soon. She also detailed about the project.
CCTV Cameras in All Bal Ashrams
Director, Social Justice and Empower, Mansi Sahai Thakur revealed that the installation of CCTV cameras was under process in all such Bal Ashrams in a phased manner and to begin with, CCTV had been installed in Bal Ashram (Shishu Grah) at Tutikandi and one can watch ‘Live Preview’ on mobiles also. She also displayed the Live Preview of Tutikandi ‘Shishu Grah’ to the Chief Minister.
However, it is to be seen how many of these announcements are actually materialized.
