Himachal CM visits Kullu village devastated by fire, Assures early rehabilitation of homeless families
KULLU- Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh visited Gahar village of Kullu district, which was completely destroyed in a devastating fire in the afternoon of December 2, 2016. He took stock of the situation and also distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 14.60 lakh to the fire victims and assured all possible assistance.
The Chief Minister, who is on two days tour of the district, expressed his willingness to go to fire-ravaged Gahar village and meet the affected.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Yunus Khan while briefing the Chief Minister said that all families were provided ration for two months besides mattresses and utensils and other basic daily needs items.
The Chief Minister assured early rehabilitation of the fire victims.
Fire in the village on Friday had gutted eight houses leaving 22 families homeless. Each family was to be given immediate relief of Rs 10,000 each, besides ration, utensils, bedding and tarpaulin. The district administration had faced cash-crunch to provide immediate relief to the victims due to demonetisation, hence, it had to borrow money from traders.
