The accused Jitender Kumar (Himachal) has stated that he along with Rinku Kumar has transported over 60 kg of drug worth Rs. 3 crore from Himachal Pradesh to Delhi and Goa.

SHIMLA- In a drug-bust, 11 kg of A-grade hashish (also called Malana Cream) worth Rs. 55 lakh was seized by the Special Cell of Delhi Police from Delhi. The news has further brought Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh into limelight for production of hashish. The hill state is itself trying to curb the drug menace as the younger generation is easily falling victim to them. It has already been pointed by various reports that large number of tourists are attracted toward Kullu valley owing to production of high-potency hashish.

Police said gang kingpin Biru of Himachal Pradesh as well as Rinku Kumar and Jitender Kumar were arrested on Monday night when Biru came on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway near Mahipalpur to deliver the cannabis-based recreational drug.

The Cell revealed that the accused was operating in Delhi and Goa through his syndicate members Rinku and Jitender. Bir Singh and Rinku are both brothers and Nepali citizens.

The Special Cell had received a tip about the transportation of the hashish. The tip said that a man named Biru is supplying huge quantity of narcotic drug malana Cream-Red-Ice to separate drug traffickers of Delhi and Goa for club parties. The accused had brought 20 kg of drugs from which 9 kg was delivered to a drug receiver in Delhi and the remaining quantity, that is 11 kg, was to be delivered to someone in Goa.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) P.K. Kushwah said the accused told police that they had so far sold over 60 kg drug valued at over Rs 3 crore in Delhi and Goa.

As per the report by PTI, there was huge profit in transporting narcotic drugs, Singh also engaged his younger brother Rinku and his acquaintance Jitender, a driver, in the business, said the officer.

Singh used to ply his own commercial taxi in Manikaran and about six months back, he came in contact with a drug trafficker, Deepak Twang, a resident of Bersani, Kullu who employed him for trafficking drugs to NCR and Goa, said Kushwaha
.
Twang had associate drug receivers – Resham Thapa in Delhi and Raju in Goa. For each trip, Singh used to get about Rs 10,000 per kg.

The cops suspect they have a wider network and it would be only after interrogation that the receivers would be traced.

The accused Jitender Kumar has stated that he along with Rinku Kumar has transported over 35 kg of drug in two trips from Himachal Pradesh to Delhi. Efforts are on to identify and apprehend the forward and backward linkages of the chain,
