Shimla girl becomes Himachal’s first female player to be selected in National Shooting Team
SHIMLA- Zeena Khitta, a 15-years-old girl from Rohru region in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla, has become the first female player to become part of the national shooting team of India in 10 meter air rifle category. In coming days, she will be representing India in international shooting competitions. The news has cheered her parents as well as the Rohru region.
In last couple of years, young Zeena has competed in several national level shooting competitions and has won gold medals in All India Shooting Championship and North Zone Shooting Championship. Here performances brought her to the attention of the selectors. Finally, she made it into the national team.
Zeena is a student of Aradhan Public School in Rohru and has been practicing for last couple of years in the Aradhana Shooting Club’s range. Her mentor and coach of the club, Virender Singh Banshtu and her father, Prithvi Raj Khitta are also proud on her achievement.
