On Women’s Day, St. Bede’s students get tips from IPS Shalini on Protection of Women against Cyber Crime
SHIMLA- St. Bede’s College, Shimla also celebrated International Women’s Day , observed on March 8 every year as part of worldwide campaign for women empowerment and demand for gender equality. The day is being celebrated across the globe with ‘Be Bold for Change’ as this year’s theme.
On this occasion, the prestigious college had invited Ms. Shalini Agnihotri, SP Narcotics, who talked about “Protection of Women against Cyber Crime” to create awareness among young girls of the college. Ms. Agnihotri gave an interactive presentation to highlight critical aspects of rising cyber crime against women. The students were made aware of precautions and need of staying alert to prevent falling victim to such crimes. She talked about the matter in length as she stood as an example of independent, successful and empowered woman.
Agnihotri, who belonged to a middle class family in Thathal village of district Una, had made the State proud as she emerged as top IPS probationer in the 65 batch of Indian Police Service in 2011 in her very first attempt. She didn’t just pass out her course but also won coveted Prime Minister’s Baton and the Home Ministry’s Revolver for her remarkable all-round capabilities during her training.
Earlier, on March 6, the college had also organized various competitions as part of women’s day celebrations. The students participated in poetry, essay writing, slogan writing, poster making etc.
