Bus falls into gorge in Shimla’s Rampur, 2 killed, 10 injured
Shimla: Two people were killed on the spot and 10 others injured when a private bus plunged 100 meters down a hill in Nankhari Tehsil of Shimla district on early Saturday morning.
The bus was identified as the Rajta Coch (HP- 63A – 1611). The bus was heading from Nankhari to Shimla when due to reasons unknown it rolled down the hill near a place known as Charri.
The accident occurred at about 5:30 AM. As per initial reports. The bus was carrying total 14 people including the conductor and the driver.
The injured were taken to the Nankhari hospital for treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Dev Chand (47) and Kanku Devi (53). Both were natives of the Naghdhar village in Nankhari.
By the time of writing, a woman was stuck under the bus and the police and administration was trying to get her out.
So far, the reason of the accident is not ascertained.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rampur, Dev Negi, has confirmed the news of the accident. More details are awaited.
