Rain & snow may bring mercury down in Himachal this week
Shimla: The spine-chilling winters are knocking at the doors of Himachal Pradesh as the long dry spell is about to be broken by a change in the weather.
Though the temperature did not see significant change during the past 24 hours, the Meteorological Department, Shimla, has predicted snow in higher reaches and light rains in other parts of the state this week starting from Wednesday.
The sky is likely to remain partly cloudy during the entire week. The minimum and maximum temperatures would also see significant drop with change in the weather.
On Tuesday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 1.4 Degree Celsius in Keylong while Una reported maximum 28 Degree Celsius.
The tribal areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, and Chamba have either stocked up essentials for the winters or are doing it before they get disconnected with rest of the world after it snows.
At the same time, the popular tourist towns are gearing up to host the tourist season of the year, which arrives every year with winters.
