85 Himachal school principals face probe for misuse of funds

DHARAMSALA – Principals of about 85 senior secondary schools in Himachal are facing enquiry for alleged violation of education department rules, mostly pertaining to misuse of grants and funds, with the state government asking the authorities to complete preliminary probe within 15 days. According to a senior Education Department official, majority of cases pertains to misuse of funds and grants allotted to these schools. The principals who are facing probe were of the Government Senior Secondary (SS) School in Sirmour, Mandi, Shimla, Una, Solan, Kangra, Bilaspur and Kullu districts. The Additional Director, in his letter, said complaints against the principals were pending for long time despite repeated requests and instructions to the Deputy Directors in this regard. ~ PTI
