Himachal Pradesh to bring Bill to regulate sports bodies

SHIMLA – Himachal government is contemplating bringing a bill to regulate sports bodies with an aim to check “monopoly” and bring transparency in the functioning. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister today said that the Bill would ensure a fixed “term of office” for the members including the Chairman. Members and the Chairman of the sports bodies should be elected in a democratic manner and not only cricket, every game needs to be promoted, and the proposed Bill would seek to achieve these goals, he added. ~ PTI
