HP State Biodiversity Board organizes training workshop in Chamba
SHIMLA- Himachal Pradesh State Biodiversity Board (HPSBB) is organizing a one day Training workshop on various issues and activities relating to implementation of Biological Diversity Act, 2002 and Rules, 2004 at Hotel Ashiana Regency, Chamba, on July 1 in which all relevant stakeholders representing the Zila Parishad Members, Panchayat Samiti Members, Panchayat Pradhans of district Chamba and officials from line departments mainly Forest, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Education, Animal Husbandry, Ayurveda etc. will be participating.
The one day Training workshop would be inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri, The Training workshop is being organized for increasing the understanding and awareness about the importance, role and issues concerning biodiversity. Information about conservation and sustainable use of bio-resources in the State will also be disseminated.
During the training workshop, the Panchayat Pradhans of seven Blocks and four Forest Divisions of District Chamba would be sensitized about biodiversity importance and provisions of Biodiversity, Biological Diversity Act, 2002 and Rules, 2004, process of constitution of Biodiversity Management Committees (BMC) at local level, role of Biodiversity Management Committees, Preparation of People’s Biodiversity Registers (PBR) and Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) of the biological resources of district Chamba.
The training workshop would also witness skit on biodiversity, to be performed by the Eco-club of GHS Kaded, Chamba, HP Director, Department of Environment, Science and Technology, Conservator of Forest Chamba; Deputy Commissioner Chamba, officials of district administration Chamba, All DFO’s of Chamba Forest Circle, Joint Member Secretary and Senior Scientists of State Council for Science Technology and Environment would be participating in the workshop.
