Shimla shares the grief of the Delhi rape victim, holds a peaceful candle march
India witnessed a lot of tension and continuous protest in Delhi from the past five days, which took a massive form today after the innocent students, demanding justice for the 23-year-old victim of gruesome Delhi gangrape, were brutally lathicharged and exposed to water cannons by the police. The brutality and the horror of the incident not only shook Delhi, but the whole nation. Shimla is no exception and didn’t remain untouched. The local youth expressed their concern through a candle march. The march started from DC office and the participants reached the Ridge after taking a full round of Shimla Mall with candles and posters in their hands. They walked silently, many sharing the light of candles with others, and concluded the march peacefully. Both, the girls and boys, appeared in almost equal number and the pain in their hearts was apparently visible in their eyes. Here are a few pictures of the candle march organized on Saturday.
